Sunday, February 12, 2012 – Roulette, NYC
Sound Artists activate the unique acoustics of Roulette’s newly renovated 1920s Art Deco theater with multichannel spacialized sound. With speakers set up throughout the entire Roulette space, visitors are invited to wander freely during the event, creating their own sonic and spacial narrative.

Soundwalk for Elastic City
Brooklyn Bridge Park (corner Main St / Plymouth St)
various dates during the summer season 2010
The soundwalk “Demasking The Bridges” explores the small triangle between the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge in Dumbo. The soundscape of the area is mainly dominated by the traffic of the two bridges. By slowly oscillating between the bridges, crossing through diverse surroundings the group learns about and experiences the “Masking Effect”. Focusing on the weaker maskees and shifting the threshold of the masker with our movement slowly uncovers more and more sound events and acoustic arenas.

Herbstzug
2009
The ensemble uses clarinette, flute, computer and visual material to examine the autum birds migration. An electroacoustic composition with one open parameter by Daniel Neumann made from flute and clarinette samples forms the base from which Patrick Franke, Ole Schmidt and Chris Weinheimer, by playing their instruments live, create dynamics, densities, currents, knots and direction.

INNEN & AUßEN (IN/-SIDE & OUT/-SIDE)
The concert and installation piece was performed as the finale concert in the series AlulaTonSerien at the Gallery for Contemporary Art Leipzig.
The four performers created a set-up, which took place in three rooms inside the gallery and outside the gallery. Each of the four performers had his own position and function within the set-up and with each position a certain statement about being inside and outside of different acoustic arenas is made.
The set-up included: a microphone outside of the gallery (Franke, outside), speakers behind a glass wall, microphone in room 1, feed from Franke and computer (Neumann, room 1), speakers outside the gallery and in room 1, two headphones in room 3, microphone, sine wave generator, feed from Franke and computer (Schmidt, room 3), four speakers in room 1, one speaker outside the gallery, violin, bass flute with internal microphones and electronics (Weinheimer, room 1).

For the multi-media event Claustrophobia at Giro Leipzig I created a sound installation using 8 cassette players, which I played as instruments, using pre-edited cassettes. The cassette players were spread out in different rooms and the overall volume of this collage stayed mezzo piano. Silent parts of the single sources enhance the spatiality and facilitate simultaneous events.
The documentation is an edited collage of the different cassettes.
